At Brisbane Vintage Watches we service and restore all types of timepieces from vintage watches to modern exclusive brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Omega.  Our dedicated workshop caters for all situations from band repairs, battery changes, water pressure testing to complete servicing and complex restorations.

What is a complete mechanical watch service?

A watch is a mechanical timepiece, and like all things mechanical, needs to be maintained.
The lubricants used to keep your watch running correctly will deteriorate with use & age & if not serviced & oiled regularly will cause the watch to run dry and parts to wear, and this will affect its reliability.

We can carry out a Complete Service to restore your watch to its original standards. We disassemble the movement, clean, rebuild & lubricate it to bring it back to its original condition.
If needs be replacement of the seals and the glass will ensure the watch will be water resistant.

The bracelet & case can then be polished & re-grained  and any worn pins replaced to ensure your watch will give you as much pleasure as the day you bought it.
A complete watch service includes:

  • Complete disassembly of the timepiece
  • The Hands & the dial are removed
  • All moving parts are dis-assembled
  • All parts are then Inspected & Cleaned to remove old lubricant.
  • Replacement of all worn  or damaged parts with new parts
  • The watch is then reassembled.
  • Lubrication & regulation of the movement is performed
  • Installation of the dial & hands
  • The Bracelet is inspected for wear in the pins, tubes & clasp, & replacements fitted
  • Water Pressure Tested to model specifications
  • When completed a Functional test is performed for 3-5 days to ensure the watch is keeping time..
  • No “part repairs” are performed if a service is necessary. Our staff can help you with this.
